Editor’s Choice Awards are nice ways to round up the entire year and look at what products stood out in a crowded field. They let the reviewer give a “final thought” on what had the biggest impact on them over the course of the year and after countless reviews and test rides of other products, the sample size is good enough to say “this is our favorite product of the year”.
In February of 2024, we sent Jordan Villella our latest version of the Skyline road bike for him to review. The Skyline has been in our lineup since the brand was launched way back in 2012 and over the years it has evolved in subtle ways so as to stay “modern” with the times.
The heart and soul of the bike has always been a “performance style” bike. It loves to ride fast uphill and it’s a screamer on the downhills due to its nimble handling and quick acceleration. The original Skyline had external brake lines for the rim calipers, and our patented CCS system to give the ability to switch between Di2 and mechanical drivetrains easily. Over the years, the bike has evolved to incorporate full internal routing, 3D printed parts, disc brakes, and a slightly more aggressive geometry that helps to push the speed up while still maintaining the handling characteristics we all know and love.
As Jordan is quick to point out, he doesn’t usually get to ride titanium bikes as most of the bikes he gets are carbon. So when he falls in love with the Skyline, he is really comparing that to some of the best carbon road bikes on the market and still the Skyline won his heart and his mind. That is a pretty strong endorsement. Check out Jordan’s final thoughts on the Skyline in the link below.
