The first thing you notice when you roll into the trail is how quiet everything is. It is as though you have achieved that perfect balance of flowing movement and hyper awareness of your surroundings. You feel the hero dirt crunch underneath your tires while your arms pump the endless jumps and berms. At the same time your ears are in tune with the audible “Woo-Hoo’s” and gasps coming out of your mouth as everyone on the trail can hear you.

The Powerline was conceived to be at home on a variety of terrain and conditions. Whether it is tearing up your local flow trails, or racing XC Endurance events, the Powerline is ready for the challenge. With the speed and agility of a race bike and the playful downhill capability of a trail bike, the new Sage Titanium Powerline is the downcountry bike of choice for those who have as much fun on the climbs as the descents.

The model was originally inspired by the Powerline trail at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. The trail is part of a XC racecourse with a steep, straight, boulder minefield of a descent. Hardtails would crush the climbs, but short travel forks couldn’t handle that section. The Powerline paired fast-yet-capable geometry with a 130mm fork, to give riders an advantage on every part of the trail. Now, the third-generation Powerline takes things further with a completely new frame, updated geo, and advanced features

It’s not just the geometry that’s new, the frame is completely redesigned for full internal routing and more tire clearance. A new 3D-printed chainstay yoke replaces the driveside CNC’d plate behind the crankset. The new yoke is curvier, clears a 34-tooth chainring, and increases tire clearance from 2.5″ to up to 2.6″ tires without requiring any changes to the chainstay length. It also provides sleek internal routing for shift cables or wires. Gone are the brake and shift cable guides on the top tube and seatstays. All control lines now run inside the frame through the downtube and chainstays, including rear derailleur shift cable or wire, rear brake hose, and dropper post remote cable.

Let the bike rip. Launch it off that natural hip jump you have been eyeing for the past year. Yell as loud as you can to let everyone know you are having the best time on the trail. Harmony is the game and Powerline is the name.

  • 3D printed chainstay yoke
  • Geometry spec based on 130mm fork
  • Clearance for 29 x 2.6 inch tires
  • Full internal routing options available
  • 1x Specific with clearance for 34-tooth chainring

3/2.5 Titanium

At Sage, 3/2.5 titanium is the magic material. The smooth riding alloy blends stiffness, durability and weight for the ultimate frame tubing. Titanium has a superior strength-to-weight ratio compared with steel and aluminum, and the fatigue tolerance far surpasses the other materials. Don’t fret long rain rides or brackish water crossings—3/2.5 titanium resists rust and corrosion better than any other metal tubing.

Industrial Finish

All Sage frames have a raw finish with the titanium shinning in all its glory. But industrial brushing is not just simple with a sexy shimmer. It’s also practical. The lusty sheen can be polished and renewed time after time. While bead-blasted and high-polished titanium frames have an alternatively classy look, any cosmetic flaws must be fixed by the pros at the paint shop or titanium factory. Should the industrial finish scratch or scuff, simply grab a Scotch-Brite pad to buff out the blemishes. A little elbow grease and DIY initiative brings the bike back to life, giving the frame that polished glow like the day it first rolled onto the doorstep. Or send your frame to us, and Sage will refresh it with a full buff and new set of decals.

English Threaded Bottom Bracket

Classic and classy, the English-threaded bottom bracket reigns supreme over press-fit alternatives. The strong interface between bottom bracket cups and the frame eliminates creaks and maintains alignment that won’t slip or wobble over time. Additionally, installation, removal and service of the design are simply superior. No punching or pressing required. Just thread it, grease it, shred it. Repeat.

Oversized 44-Millimeter Head Tube

The oversized 44-millimeter head tube affords phenomenal front-end stiffness and precision on the road. Press-in headset cups provide a secure interface between frame and cockpit, and the large diameter opening accepts a wide range of steerer tubes, from 1⅛-inch straight to 1⅛–1½-inch tapered and every combination between.
